Basic Principle and Production Process

Basic Principle: The filter paper is first processed by pre-slitting for width adjustment (optional), then passes through the printer to create folding lines (creasing pitch = fold height). After that, it enters the folding machine, where the upper and lower folding knives work alternately (overlapping height = fold height) to form pleated filter paper. Finally, the heating plates apply heat and pressure for shaping, while the dot marking device creates marks according to the preset folding quantity.
Production Process:
Feeding: The roll filter paper is installed onto the feeding shaft, and the swing arm lifts the material for feeding.
Pre-Slitting: The filter paper passes through tension rollers, support rollers, and feeding rollers. The slitting knife spacing is adjusted according to product width (distance between two knives = required width), cutting the paper into several sections without complete separation if required.
Creasing: The filter paper enters the printer unit. The creasing depth and pitch are adjusted, and the stepper motor parameters are set through the touch screen. The creasing pitch equals the fold height.
Folding: The filter paper enters the folding machine and is folded by the upper and lower knives into pleated shape.
Dot Marking and Counting: The front platform marking device automatically marks according to the preset fold number.
Heating Shaping: The folded filter element passes through adjustable upper and lower heating plates and is shaped under temperature and pressure.
Output: Finished filter elements are discharged from the rear platform.

Installation Notes

Install the Full-Auto Knife Paper Pleating Production Line on a flat, clean and well-ventilated floor, avoiding high temperature and dust environments.
Keep a distance of more than 1 meter from the walls on both sides and more than 1.5 meters at the front and rear.
The distance between the three machines should be 0.8~1.2 meters and kept on the same center line.
Use a forklift above 1 ton for transportation.
Calibrate the level of each machine.

FAQ

Q1: How to set decimal fold height such as 8.5mm?
A: Enter the integer part (such as 8) in the "Fold Height Setting" section of the stepper motor parameter interface, and enter the decimal adjustment value in "Fold Height Increase" (such as 3). Calculation: 8 + 3×0.17 = 8.51≈8.5mm.

Q2: Why are the folded filter ends uneven? How to adjust?
A: Usually caused by the upper and lower folding knives not being parallel. If the end surface shifts to the left, lower the left knife gap; if it shifts to the right, lower the right knife gap.

Q3: What adjustments are needed when fold height exceeds 35mm?
A: Replace roller B on the lower cam slide plate (2 pieces on each side, 4 pieces in total) to increase the exchange curve between the two knives, and reduce folding speed appropriately to prevent paper breakage.

Q4: What should I do if pre-slitting paper feeding does not stop or paper jams occur?
A: Check whether the photoelectric switch is blocked or damaged; check the transmission system; meanwhile ensure the gap between guide rail and filter material edge is maintained at 0.2~0.5mm and the guide rail is perpendicular to the paper feeding roller.
